Founded in 1963, Westminster Day School has been providing quality education for pre-school children for 50 years. Westminster Day School is a Christian pre-school for children 4 months through Kindergarten. It is the mission of the school to help every child develop an understanding of God's love for them while providing a quality early childhood education in a developmentally appropriate, Christian environment. 

Here at WDS, we put purposeful play at the heart of our curriculum, encouraging active participation in the learning process. We believe in the importance of creating partnerships with our families, faculty, and our community to build and enhance each child's positive sense of self. Our team approach supports each child as an active learner by providing opportunities for social interactions, problem solving, and exploration of the environment.     

Children in our 3 year old, 4 year old and Kindergarten classes follow a full curriculum which is aligned with the South Carolina State Curriculum Standards. This curriculum includes language arts, math and science, as well as, social, citizenship and spiritual development. In addition, we offer weekly chapel services, art, music and fitness classes, field trips and visits from people in our community to broaden our children's experiences.

Our infant, toddler and 2 year old classes provide children with a warm and friendly environment that uses concrete, hand-on activities to encourage early learning. The WDS curriculum provides interactive activities that enable children to develop a love of learning while they are playing and having fun.

WDS focuses on the child as the curriculum by incorporating the principle of active, independent and child-directed learning into our planning.
