Karla Reid was born in St. Johns, Michigan, a small town outside of Lansing. Her parents soon moved to Detroit, Michigan where they raised Karla along with her brother and sister. Karla graduated from Bently High School and married soon after. 

The young couple left Detroit to raise their family in a small town near Ann Arbor, Michigan. During that time, Karla was the Minister of Music's assistant at the church they attended. The Lord saw fit to bless Karla and her husband with three children and, eventually, three grandchildren. Karla and her children moved to South Carolina in 1995, where she met and eventually married her current husband, David, in December of 2000.

Karla accepted the Lord as her Savior when she was eight years old during Sunday School and she can't imagine living without Him. She likes music, sewing and flower gardening. She and her husband also spend a lot of time working in the yard together.
