8:15am - The Contemplative Service is designed to draw us into the presence of God through a quieter service that includes music, sermon and communion by intinction* every week. The service seeks to bring us into a simple and reflective attitude as we worship. Typically the sermon and preacher are the same as the 11:00 Classic Traditional Service. 11:00am - The Classic/Traditional Service uses classic Presbyterian style worship including the preached Word of God, music and liturgy. The music is accompanied by the organ and Chancel Choir. The clergy wear robes and preach from the pulpit. Elements of liturgy include the Call to Worship, Prayer of Confession/Declaration of pardon, the Gloria Patri, the Lord's Prayer, Doxology and Statement of Faith. The service will celebrate the sacrament of the Lord's Supper on the same schedule as the Contemporary Service at 9:30 (first Sundays of February, April, June, August, October and December.) |
