  • Founded in 1963, Westminster Day School has been providing quality education for pre-school children for over 60 years. Westminster Day School is a Christian pre-school for children 6 months through 4K. It is the mission of the school to help every child develop an understanding of God's love while providing a quality early childhood education in a developmentally appropriate, Christian environment. 

    Here at WDS, we put purposeful play at the heart of our curriculum, encouraging active participation in the learning process. We believe in the importance of developing partnerships and relationships with our families, faculty, and community to build and enhance each child's positive sense of self. Our team approach supports each child as an active learner by providing hand on experiences and opportunities for discovery, creativity, collaboration, problem solving, and explorations.     

    Children in our 3 year old and 4 year old classes follow a full curriculum which is aligned with the South Carolina State Curriculum Standards and NAEYC Guidlines. Our curriculum is rich in early literacy skills and language development and infuses math and science concepts through every day activities. Our children are given experiences that foster and nurture self-confidence, self-esteem, relationships with others, and a growing knowledge of Christ.  In addition, we offer chapel, art, music, science and fitness classes along with opportunities to learn through field trips and visits from people in our community.

    Our infant, toddler and 2 year old classes provide children with a warm and friendly environment that uses enriching, concrete, hands-on activities to encourage early learning. The WDS curriculum provides interactive activities that enable children to develop a love of learning while they are playing and having fun.

    WDS focuses on the child as the curriculum by incorporating the principles of active, independent and child-directed learning into our planning.

    In order to register your child in our preschool program, please call the school office and we will happily assist you with the necessary information (864-585-8751).                 

    A Registration Form and the Registration Fee will be required to reserve your child's space.

    REGISTRATION FEE: $180.00 (non-refundable) for 6 months - 4-Year-Old Kindergarten

  • WDS's PTO...creating community and communication! 

    Parent volunteers are vital in our work of creating community, building partnerships between home and school, and in providing a postive, meaningful, and happy preschool experience for all. Westminster Day School welcomes and encourages its parents to be present, active, and involved in all aspects of our school.  There are many opportunities for volunteering and, as a parent, you are always welcome!

2025-2026 Annual Tuition Rates 

Infants - 4K (8:45 am -12:00 noon)

Annual Tuition is divided into 9 monthly payments, Sept. - May

  • 2 days (T/Th) Infants/Toddlers: $300 monthly; $2700 annually

  • 3 days (M/W/F) Infants/Toddlers: $315 monthly; $2,835 annually

  • 5 days (M-F) Infants: 4’s Class: $340 monthly; $3,060 annually

WESTMINSTER DAY SCHOOL WEATHER POLICY

Westminster Day School will closely follow the same schedule as Spartanburg District 7 (D7) for school closings due to inclement weather or emergencies.

In the event D7 Schools are closed, we will be closed.

*In the event of a one-hour delay, we will open at 9:15am.

*In the event of a two-hour delay, we will open at 10:00am.

With a three-hour delay, the school remains closed.

Please do not call teachers.  We will begin sending communications as quickly as possible and only once we hear affirmatively from D7.  Be alert for text messages or emails from teachers and WDS staff and listen to local news stations for D7 announcements.

Hours of Operation:

Westminster Day School operates from late August to mid-May.  The school closely follows the academic calendar of our local school district, Spartanburg District 7. 

School hours are 8:45 am - 12 noon, Monday - Friday

Office hours are 8 am - 1:00 pm, Monday - Friday
